Song of the day: The Avett Brothers’ Laundry Room
Song of the day: Ryan Adams’ Dirty Rain
Song of the day: John Mayer’s Gravity
Song of the day: Incubus’ Dig
This song came on the radio and instantly the day was perfect.
Song of the day: Fiona Apple’s Mistake
I love everything about this song.
Song of the day: Sam Cooke’s A Change Gonna Come.
Sam Cooke would have been 80 today. I picked this song because it’s so hopeful…so perfect and so true. He has the most perfect voice…almost flawless.
I love Sam.
Song of the day: Prince’s Raspberry Beret.
When I was a young lass, I would sneak into my parent’s record collection when they weren’t home. I would pull out a few different albums…and just stare at the covers while they spinned on the perfectly cared for, mint condition record player. There were album covers that I couldn’t wrap my mind around, that held my attention and have permanent spots in my mind…like Led Zeppelins’ Houses of the Holy and Prince’s Around the World in a Day. I’m not sure what it was…maybe the way it was painted…the colors or how the album cover seem to be a snap shot of this video…but it kept my attention…and please…don’t even get me started on this song!
Stand up, play this and have a mini dance party. It’s Thursday. You deserve it. :o)
Song of the day: Ryan Adams’ Desire
Song of the day: Donny Hathaway’s This Christmas.
When my sister and I were younger, we would wake up at 5am, run to the living room and tear through any unwrapped Santa presents….while waiting for Mom and Dad to stop being lazy and get up so we can attack the wrapped presents we’ve been sizing for weeks. When they would finally get up, we opened everything while listening to standard classic Christmas albums. This one was always my favorite. It encompasses everything I love about the holidays. Love, Family and Laughter. And although I’m miles away from my family…this song helps to bring them that much closer to me.
Enjoy your day! Merry Happy! ;o)
